Here's my situation, I can't decide what to do. I start college next fall, so I need a car to drive to school this winter. I've had the Z for almost 3 years, but I never really drove it in the winter. I always borrowed my mom's 2nd car which she got rid of recently. Anyway, I don't want to drive the Z this winter and I have two options. Sell it (which would be difficult, details below) or buy a beater and a motor swap for the Z. The car is very clean, but it won't sell for much because it needs alot of mechanical work. Another than the 106k miles, it needs the following parts or repairs: Motor Mounts A/C Compressor Clutch Brake Master Cylinder Clutch Master Cylinder Alignment One fuel injector is failing Cold temperature startup needs attention Grille kit for the jspec bumper A few minor paint touch ups I frequently go to car auctions and $300 beater cars are easy to come across. So I have thought about buying a beater and fixing up the Z. This would include addressing all non-engine related issues and an engine swap. If I decide to do this I will either drop in a low milage NA engine (60K, all hoses, plugs, etc...could also do other bolt ons while the engine is out) or buy a TT front clip and drop that in with supporting mods. I'm geussing $3k NA and $5k TT? TT swap would probably be more difficult and time consuming. Is it worth it?
